A Daily Walk

"And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ. (Colossians 3:23-24)

Where has fourteen months gone since the last time that I posted? Can you look back on fourteen months and say that you have grown up into Christ? Have you learned more about your Creator? Can you measure your growth by how you respond to people and circumstances? I have passed some tests and I have failed some. Paul says that we are to "walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time. Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man." (Colossians 4:5-6)

Do you see that walking in wisdom is tied to our speech and words with others? Solomon tells us, "Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof." (Proverbs 18:21) Are we speaking words of grace that preserves and gives life to another person? The book of James is written to believers and is full of direction on the use of our tongue. He even talks about the inability to control the tongue. Can you remain silent in an unpleasant conversation? Can you be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to wrath? (James 1:19) Let's just say that I am still in the maturing phase, however, I have improved in the last fourteen months!

I pray that you will continue to grow up into Christ, and to remember that whatever you do, do it unto the Lord!

May peace and grace be multiplied unto you and you grow!

Don't know what gift to buy? Have you asked our Father?

"And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they KNOW his voice." (John 10:4) "My sheep HEAR my voice, and I know them, and they follow me" (John 10:27)

Do you know the Father's voice? Do you know the different ways that He communicates to you? Do you know that His first language doesn't appear to be English? Do you seek to hear Him daily? Since He is referred to as Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6) among countless others, wouldn't it be important to hear what He has to say in any given situation? Yes, there are those that believe He doesn't speak to people anymore because we have His written word. I can't seem to locate scripture to support that doctrine. However, from Genesis to Revelation we have scripture that is inspired of God (2 Timothy 3:16) that supports the ways in which He communicates to us. It also indicates that He is the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. (Hebrews 13:8)

Two years ago, a friend of mine sent her daughter to visit with us. I asked the Lord what He wanted me to teach while she was here. He told me to teach them how to hear His voice. I told Him that He would need to help me since I have trouble in that area myself. It has been quite the journey from that point on.

I was going to town to meet a friend for her birthday lunch and wanted to get her something. I told my Father that I wanted to bless her, but knew He wanted to bless her more than I did. I asked Him what I could get for her and He told me white sheets. At that moment, in my heart, I told Him that I didn't know what size bed she had. He answered, "queen". I told Him that I would like a "word" for her since this was such a personal item and it wasn't like she was a newlywed. Isn't it funny? Or maybe it isn't...I ask a question and then I want to argue or debate with what I heard Him say. Here is the word that I received to give to her, "Tell her that through Christ, I see her pure, righteous, and holy. The sheets are a reminder for her to rest in Me." That was good!!

Once we met, I gave her the gift bag. She pulled the tissue out and began laughing. I told her that I prayed about what to get her and this was what the Lord told me. I then gave her the word that He gave for her. She began to tell me that when she would make her bed, she would think how nice it would be to have new sheets. She never asked God for them. I reminded her of Psalms 37:4. You see, God gave her the desires of her heart. What a blessing those white sheets were to the both of us! She was given the desires of her heart, and I received confirmation that I was hearing His voice.

There are other practical ways to knowing whether you are hearing His voice. When the phone rings, ask the Holy Spirit who is calling before you answer. (can't use caller id!) Sunday before last, I "thought" about asking the Holy Spirit to tell me what color shirt our pastor would be wearing that morning. I saw a red shirt. We get to church and he is wearing a red shirt. TC and I have done this several times recently.

Why is it important to know His voice? How does one have a growing, deeper relationship with anyone if communication isn't a two-way street? He told us that He would never leave us or forsake us. So that we may boldly say, the Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me. (Hebrews 13:5-6) I don't want to miss anything that He is trying to tell me, regardless if He chooses to communicate to me through the voice in my heart; His written word; a vision; a dream; or any other biblical method.  He tells us that the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day. (Proverbs 4:18) I need to know that I stay on that path. I need to know what obstacles are in front of me or what potholes to avoid. He told us that the Holy Spirit would speak the things that he hears, and would show us things to come. (John 16:13) Gotta know His voice, especially in the times that we are heading for. We shouldn't look like the wicked whose way is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble. (Proverbs 4:19) My husband puts it this way, "we shouldn't be like a fish out of water, flopping around."

Be strengthened with might by His Spirit in your inner man. Draw nearer to Him and let us walk by faith, which is pleasing to Him! Try Christmas shopping, hearing His voice. It will put a new, valuable dimension on Christmas shopping when you include Him!

Happy Spirit-filled shopping!

Is God really YOUR provider, first?

"But seek ye FIRST the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these THINGS shall be added unto you." Matthew 6:33

Do we do this? Do we live our life according to this command? Paul goes into detail in how to do this command in Philippians 4:6-7, and reminds us of the promise. Remember, all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us. (2 Corinthians 1:20)

He tells us to "be careful for nothing; but in every THING, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. He then shares in vs 19 that "my God shall supply ALL your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Jesus told us to seek the kingdom of God, first. (If you are in Christ Jesus, you have been made righteous already. 1 Corinthians 1:30) Paul tells us not to worry about anything. How do you do that? You go to the Provider, God with thankfulness and tell Him what you need. Do you know what happens when you do it that way? You get the peace of God that you can't explain. What is the promise? He gives you what you need!!!

I suspect that you probably know several people that can quote Philippians 4:19. Is the evidence revealed in their life? Does one really seek the kingdom, first? Or is this the last ditch effort when the world's ways seem to be crumbling around one's life? We must move from religion to the reality of the kingdom of God. We have the instructions on how to live and reveal God's kingdom. James 1:22 reminds us that we must be doers of the word and not hearers only. What are the results if you don't do the word? You deceive yourself.

Can we at least do what Sara did? (No, don't laugh at what God says) Do you know that she is listed in Hebrews 11? It says that through faith she received strength to conceive and had a child when she was old, BECAUSE she JUDGED him faithful who had promised. Do we believe what God has promised?

Testimony

Have you read any books written about George Muller? An easy, quick read is "George Muller, The Guardian of Bristol's Orphans" by Janet and Geoff Benge. TC and I read this as part of his homeschool curriculum. George Muller never asked a man for anything that he needed to run the orphan homes. He believed Philippians 4:19 and went to God with his need.

In our ministry, we make cds to pass out, and we also mail them. I was beginning to get low on cds, labels, stamps, etc. My first thought was to bring the need before our group, and see if anyone wanted to donate these items. That is the world's way of doing it, not the kingdom of God.  I remembered the scripture and George Muller's lifestyle. I went to my Father and thanked Him for the things that He has blessed us with. I then shared with Him the items that I needed for the ministry. I sought His kingdom first, gave Him thanks and told Him what I needed. A week later, I am handed a card that is marked, Harold and Kim. I was asked not to open it until we got home. We opened an awesome, thank you note. Inside the card was an envelope with $200.00 in cash. We were told in the card that the money came through their hands, but that it was from God. I called to thank them and shared with them my prayer from the previous week. They said that it was confirmation to them, as well, that they were hearing from the Lord. We are told in Luke 6:38 that when we give, it shall be given unto us; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, shall men give unto your bosom. God uses people to operate through.

Do you have confidence in Him? (1 John 5:14) Confidence is when you KNOW. Do you KNOW that His word works? Have you tried it? We are told in Hebrews 10:35 not to cast away our confidence, which has great recompence of reward. Do you have your own testimony about how it worked for you?
If not, today is your day! Step out in faith (for without faith, it is impossible to PLEASE Him), do according to the principles in His word, and then YOU will have a testimony to share with someone. This is the Gospel of Jesus Christ....

Feeling heavy?

"I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live, not I, but Christ liveth in me:and the life I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. (Galatians 2:20)

Have you ever had a moment or a day of heaviness? Do you know that with what we have been given through Christ, we should be the most joyful people walking the face of the earth?  Jesus told us that the kingdom of God is within us. (Luke 17:21) Paul tells us in Romans 14:17 that the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and JOY in the Holy Ghost. We are told that JOY is one of the fruits of the Spirit. (Galatians 5:22) Peter tells us that in believing, ye rejoice with JOY, unspeakable. (1 Peter 1:8) Even our Father has JOY and it is our strength. (Nehemiah 8:10) Jesus told us that we have His JOY and that our JOY might be full. (John 15:11) There are many scriptures that talk about the joy that has been given to us.

How do we get this JOY that the word is so clear that we already have through Jesus Christ? We first have to know what has been given to us through Him. We then must renew our mind to what is in our born again spirit. Remember, Paul tells us that we are spirit, soul and body. (1 Thessalonians 5:23) Everything has been placed in our born again spirit. We now have to renew our minds which is located in our soul area. The soul area includes our mind, will and emotions. You are not trying to obtain joy, you already have it according to the Word. We do not judge everything by our feelings or emotions. We line it up with the Word of God.

TESTIMONY

Now, back to my original question. I had one of those heavy days because my mind has not been totally renewed to the Word. I read in Isaiah 61:3 where he talks about the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness. Interesting that he refers to it as a spirit. I have done this and it works. Praising God is awesome and powerful! I highly recommend it for various reasons. This particular day, TC and I needed to go to Walmart. Remember, I was feeling heavy and not spiritual! I decided that we would pray and ask God for hints on who He wanted to minister to at Walmart. We prayed in our truck before leaving our house, and wrote the hints on a piece of paper. I received the color pink and cat. TC received the color white, dog, street and road sign.

As we are walking towards the doors at Walmart, we see a young lady in a pink shirt and a little boy in a white shirt. We go in, and are in the produce area when they come near us. The little boy had a pillow in the shopping cart that looked like a dog, but we weren't sure. We both knew that they were the ones. I walked over and asked her if she had a need from the Lord. She gasped and put her hand to her mouth and said that she did. I then showed her our list and explained that the Lord wanted to minister to her. I asked if it was a dog pillow in the cart and she said no, but that they had a dog. I asked if she had a cat, and she said no, but that her neighbor had one. I asked what her need was and she said that she needed assurance and DIRECTION. (street & road sign) We got her first name and prayed with her. We also got her three year old, son's name and prophesied the Word over him. As we went our way, we had experienced in that exchange, the living waters flowing from our bellies. (John 7:38)

At the checkout, the Lord told me to give her some money. I got some cash back and handed it to TC. I told him to see if he could find the young lady and give her the money. I told him to tell her whatever the Lord wanted him to say. He found her at another checkout and I went on towards the door. He told me that she was very excited and was looking around for me. He just said, "God bless you" and walked off. TC told me that he knew that he was just a kid, and he liked getting things but that it sure was better giving than getting.

Now, where do you think that spirit of heaviness went? The JOY that was in my born again spirit poured over into my soul when I CHOSE to be a doer of the word. It was a choice that I had to make. Paul says that when you walk in the Spirit, ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. (Galatians 5:16) How will someone experience Jesus if we don't reveal Him? 2 Corinthians 4:11-12 says, "Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh."

As believers, we owe everyone an encounter with Jesus. Remember, it's no longer us, but Christ in us. Attacked by the spirit of heaviness? Go and DO the word. Your life and the person that you encounter will be blessed.

Believe when you pray!

"Therefore, I say unto you, what things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them." Mark 11:24

I am starting this blog in order to share the awesome things that we are experiencing by being "doers" of the word. "But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves." James 1:22.  This blog is a way that I can chronicle the life that we are living in Christ Jesus and share testimonies that will encourage others to pursue their walk in a practical and simple way. Only believe..

Testimony

There is a couple that goes to our church and they usually sit near us. For two weeks, I had an unction that she needed prayer. I was not obedient for two weeks and on the third Sunday, I asked if she needed prayer for something. I asked her if they were trying to have a baby and they both said no. She told me that she did need prayer and that she was not happy at her job. She wanted to do something else; either work for a nonprofit organization or perhaps in the church. She then said that they were trying to sell their house. I hugged her and prayed with her at that moment. I spoke and asked God to open doors and close doors regarding her job situation. I binded up hindrances that were coming against her on her current job. I then binded up the spiritual hindrances that were coming against the buyer that God had for their house. I spoke that their house would see in two weeks; all in the powerful name of Jesus Christ.

The next Sunday, she came up all excited and told me that they were going to look at a house after church. She said that she had had the best week at work, and that someone had called about their house. I told her that we still had one week because I spoke that it would see in two weeks.

This past Sunday, this sweet young lady told me that she needed to talk to me after church. I went to her and she teared up and told me that their house had sold in one day! All of the transactions are being done regarding both houses in less than thirty days. My tears of joy came easily after hearing her testimony of the power of God's word working in their life. I asked their forgiveness because the Lord was directing me two weeks before I was actually obedient. They gladly forgave me. She then asked me if I would teach her these things. She wants to learn how to pray and apply the word in their life. I invited them to our Bible study, and also told her that I would teach them all that I knew.

I realized after it was all over, a seed had been planted and conception had taken place. I thought that it was them trying to have a baby in the natural, but it was spiritual conception of the word of God coming alive for them.

The key to the scripture in Mark 11:24 is to believe that you received when you prayed, not when you see the results.

Thank you Father! I love you.
