A Daily Walk

"And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ. (Colossians 3:23-24)

Where has fourteen months gone since the last time that I posted? Can you look back on fourteen months and say that you have grown up into Christ? Have you learned more about your Creator? Can you measure your growth by how you respond to people and circumstances? I have passed some tests and I have failed some. Paul says that we are to "walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time. Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man." (Colossians 4:5-6)

Do you see that walking in wisdom is tied to our speech and words with others? Solomon tells us, "Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof." (Proverbs 18:21) Are we speaking words of grace that preserves and gives life to another person? The book of James is written to believers and is full of direction on the use of our tongue. He even talks about the inability to control the tongue. Can you remain silent in an unpleasant conversation? Can you be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to wrath? (James 1:19) Let's just say that I am still in the maturing phase, however, I have improved in the last fourteen months!

I pray that you will continue to grow up into Christ, and to remember that whatever you do, do it unto the Lord!

May peace and grace be multiplied unto you and you grow!
